Colten continues to make great progress.  He now weighs 5 lbs. 10 oz.  Bringing him home was the best Valentine's gift we could ask for.

Happy Valentine's Day!  Here's a picture of our cute little Valentine!

Colten is home!!!  To our surprise the doctors allowed Colten to come home Saturday night, instead of Sunday.  We feel so blessed to finally have him home.  The doctors instructed us to quarantine him for two months due to the cold/flu season and his increased susceptibility to germs and RSV, but that's a small price to pay for his health.  We'll continue to post pictures and video so you can follow his progress!

Colten weighed in last night at 5 lbs. 1.7 oz.  He has been feeding on his own for the last 4 days.  No more feeding tubes and he is starting to become vocal.  He is doing so well that the nursing staff allowed us to keep him overnight in our boarding room without any monitors.  It was nice to finally feel like a family.  If all goes as planned, Colten will be coming home tomorrow!!!

Mr. Colten continues to make progress.  He now has a nasal gavage due to his newly acquired gag reflex.  He has been consistently gaining 20 grams each night and has surpassed his birth weight.  We are working diligently on his feeding development.  However, he is quick to fatigue and needs to gain strength in order to complete all his feedings without his gavage tube.  This is a slow process, but we are optimistic that he will be coming home shortly after Valentine's Day.

Colten is off the bili-blanket and graduated to an open-air crib today!  He continues to gain weight and has been working diligently at feeding without his OG tube.  We can't wait for the day when he finishes a feeding all on his own!

A new crib!
